All four former members of Swedish pop group Abba have reunited on stage for the first time in three decades.

Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad attended the opening of Mamma Mia! The Party, an Abba-themed entertainment venue in Swedish capital Stockholm.

The venue is the brain child of Ulvaeus, and is based on the Greek tavern in the 2008 musical film, Mamma Mia!, which featured the group's most popular songs.

The hugely successful pop group were last seen together at the premiere of Mamma Mia!, and had not come together at all in eight years until Wednesday night.

According to the Guardian, all four original members declined to be photographed together on the red carpet, but posed briefly side by side on stage later in the evening.

Fans and guests paid 1,340 kronor (£110) for a ticket to attend the opening night of the venue to catch a glimpse of their favourite pop group.

Those lucky enough to be there took videos and pictures of the stars and posted them on social media.

When asked if a more formal Abba reunion was a possible future event, Ulvaeus told Swedish media it was highly unlikely, according to news website The Local.

Since the group split in 1982, their compilation Abba Gold, released 10 years later, became the second-highest-selling album of all time in the UK.
