Australian armed forces should drop some British symbols and traditions to reflect Australia's ethnic mix, a government report said, Reuter reports from Canberra. 'There is no obvious reason why these traditions and symbols must be of British rather than Australian origin,' said the report, prepared for the Defence Personnel Minister, John Faulkner. It targeted Scottish-style military bands and 'foreign' regalia.
