A body has been found by gardai searching for a man abducted more than two weeks ago.
Detectives investigating the kidnapping of 29-year-old Ciaran Noonan discovered remains on the Dublin side of Trim, Co Meath, yesterday evening.
The scene has been sealed off for a forensic examination and the office of the state pathologist has been notified.
A garda spokesman said the body remains at the scene.
Mr Noonan was kidnapped over a suspected drugs debt after being assaulted by a gang in the East Wall area of Dublin on October 20.
A father-of-one originally from Blanchardstown and a drug user, he was bundled into a black VW Golf on Russell Avenue by several men.
The car was recovered in the car park of an apartment complex in Ashbourne.
Search teams began examining farmland in Meath and north Dublin in recent days and had appealed for farmers, walkers, landowners and hunters or other people using or crossing lands who came across anything unusual or suspicious to contact them. PA
