Investors fear racism in Germany
BONN (Reuter) - New York City's pension fund has written to Chancellor Helmut Kohl expressing concern about anti-Semitic and racist violence by neo-Nazis and right-wing gangs. Mr Kohl responded by pledging to do all in his power to stem attacks on foreigners, a government spokesman said.
German bankers and businessmen have voiced fears that right-wing violence could harm foreign investment and damage the export sector. New York's pension fund has dollars 265m (pounds 175m) invested in Germany, according to press reports.
