Tens of thousands of copies of France Soir were dumped on the street by union activists, stopping traffic on the Champs-Elysées during the morning rush hour yesterday.

The daily paper has struggled with dwindling sales for the past decade and plans to publish its last print copy tomorrow, becoming online only. The CGT union organised the protest against a closure that will cause 89 job losses.
