The Belgian governor of the Council of Europe's fund for refugees resigned following allegations of misuse of millions of dollars by fund officials, Reuter reports from Strasbourg. Roger Van den Branden, governor of the council's Social Fund for 14 years, quit a few days after the council decided to suspend him and several officials.
