Severed head found outside cafe in Amsterdam close to popular Vondelpark

The discovery comes a day after finding a decpitated body found in a burn-out car in the city

A severed head has been found outside a shisha cafe cafe in Amsterdam which could be connected to the discovery of a decapitated body the previous day.

Police are investigating whether the head, found on Wednesday, belongs to a headless body which was found in a burnt-out car on the edge of the city.

The car, found in the southeastern suburb of Amsterdam, was registered as stolen and had no number plates.

The head was discovered outside the Fayrouz lougne close to Amsterdam's popular Vondelpark.

It was found inside a blue bucket on the pavement and it was "turned so that his face looked through the windows", according to Telegraaf.

Detectives identified the body as 23-year-old Nabil Amzieb, and said he was "known to police."

The man is thought to be part of the city's Moroccan mafia, according to the Telegraaf.

Local media reports the location where the head was found is a significant place for the gangs of the city, who are involved in what the paper calls the "Mocro war".

The lounge is reported to have been a meeting place for criminal activity since 2012, according to NL Times.

Police are urgently appealing to speak to any witnesses of both incidents or who may have information on Nabil Amzieb.
