Swiss pensioners arrested for stealing church collection boxes for 'pleasure of forbidden'
The couple had no financial difficulties and were looking for 'adrenaline'
An elderly Swiss couple looking for kicks have been arrested for stealing from church collection boxes and taking off with hundreds of Swiss francs.
The couple, aged 70 and 73, admitted to stealing money from local churches in the Swiss canton of Lucerne, prosecutors said in a statement. Local media reported the husband kept watch outside while his wife emptied the boxes.
The pair began their crime spree last November seeking "the pleasure of the forbidden" and a desire for "adrenaline", according to authorities. They had no previous criminal convictions and no financial problems.
Switzerland was ranked the world's third happiest country in the United Nation's 2013 World Happiness Report.
The investigation continues.
