Talks boycotted

Nigeria's Social Democratic Party, which is challenging the annulment of presidential elections last month, boycotted talks on the military government's plan for a new poll, Reuter reports from Lagos.
The only other political party in the country, the National Republican Convention, attended the meeting called by the National Electoral Commission to consider the fresh election, tentatively fixed for 14 August.
