Tanks destroyed

Lvov (Reuter) - Ukrainian workers, armed with blowtorches and industrial tools, have dismantled the first of more than 2,000 tanks to be destroyed over 40 months under the conventional arms agreement. Under the terms of the Conventional Forces in Europe accord, Ukraine is to destroy more than 2,000 tanks, leaving it with a total of 4,080 by 1995. Big cuts were also agreed on armoured vehicles, artillery and aircraft.
