Passengers aboard a Turkish Airlines flight from Oslo overpowered a would-be hijacker as it landed at Istanbul airport on Wednesday.
The man, named as Cuma Yasar, claimed to have a bomb as he tried to enter the cockpit, demanding they return to Norway. Police found a fellow passenger sitting on the hijacker.
"I saw a fight between passengers and a man with a mask, carrying a device that looked like a radio handset," Lelya Kilic, one of the 59 passengers, said. The bomb was found to be a fake.
