The leader of Russia's breakaway region of Chechnya said he had forced the opposition into hiding after two months of demonstrations and unrest, Reuter reports from Grozny.
President Dzhokhar Dudayev said he was in control of the north Caucasian region, where 14 died in clashes with the opposition.
