Man charged with spying for Libya
German prosecutors have charged a 45-year-old man with gathering information for Libya's intelligence agency on opposition figures living in western Europe.
Prosecutors said yesterday that the man, identified as Omar K, is suspected of working as a spy for Libya from May to September 2010 . They did not give his nationality. Prosecutors charge that the suspect met with a Libyan to give him information in exchange for $3,000 (£1,800). Omar K is also suspected of having been instructed to infiltrate dissident circles to gather information.
