OAS mission to Haiti
PORT-AU-PRINCE (AP) - An international mission led by Joao Baena Soares, secretary-general of the Organisation of American States, arrived in Haiti in an attempt to break an 11-month- old deadlock between the army- backed government and the President deposed by the military in February last year, Jean- Bertrand Aristide. The group included representatives of the United Nations and the European Community.
A bomb exploded near the residence of the Prime Minister, Marc Bazin, a few hours earlier.
