LOS ANGELES - The rabbi of the Satmar Hassidim Temple Mogen Abraham, an ultra-Orthodox synagogue, has been charged with involvement in a multi-million-dollar money- laundering ring involving Hassidic diamond dealers and bank accounts belonging to religious charities, writes Phil Reeves.

Abraham Low, 42, was snared in a FBI 'sting' in which he is said to have laundered dollars 10,000 ( pounds 6,450) from an undercover agent, who made it clear it was drug money. Mr Low and two alleged accomplices are in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
