A Chinese court has sentenced to death a man who sold his mother, wife and daughter into slavery, Reuter reports from Peking.

Liu Lei was unable to keep a job and scavenged for things to sell in local markets. 'After he sold all the objects he could find he decided to sell his family members,' an official newspaper said.
