PEKING (AFP) - Deng Yingchao, the widow of Zhou Enlai, the former Chinese prime minister, died yesterday, age 88. She was one of the 'eight immortals', a group of elders who controlled Chinese politics from behind the scenes. She married Zhou Enlai in 1925, and their many adopted children include the Prime Minister, Li Peng.
