Young boy's reaction to finding out he's going to be a big brother

This is the moment a young boy finds out that he is going to be a big brother.

Logan Fairbanks is literally lost for words as he reads a note telling him that he has a sibling on the way.

The 11-year-old, of Hartford, Michigan, was handed the note by his parents after returning from school on Tuesday.

In a video filmed by his father, Josh, Logan is seen reading out a list of things he will do in the year ahead, including going on holiday to Myrtle Beach.

But there is a far bigger surprise in store. "There is one more thing I'm going to do this year," he reads.

"I'm going to be a big brother."

Gobsmacked, Logan looks off-screen for confirmation from his mother, Michelle, repeatedly asking "what?", before finally breaking into a smile.

Josh told the New York Daily News that his son is already like a big brother to children in their community.

"He is very much a big brother role to other small kids in our small town. It would not have broken his heart if he wasn't an older brother but it was something he really wanted," he said.

"He spent the other night at a friend's house who has a 3- or 4-year-old sister. She was so upset when he left for school the next morning. She kept asking for "my Logan" even though he's only been there a few times. He's such a positive, loving child," Josh added.

Logan's parents, both 29, had their son a month after they graduated from high school. They had been unsure whether they would be able to conceive again, so when they found out they were expecting, they wanted to share the news with Logan in a unique way.

A photographer for eight years, Josh has previously recorded similar films for other families in his hometown.

“This was finally my chance to do one for my family,” he told TODAY.com.

Josh said Logan took a few hours to adjust to the news, but it sounds like his unborn sibling is one lucky kid.
