Sir George Young, Secretary of State for Transport, has finally been chosen to fight a safe Conservative seat - Hampshire NW - after he was forced to join the "chicken run" of Tory MPs threatened by boundary changes when his Ealing constituency was redrawn as a Labour stronghold.
