Never before seen, unique designs from Ron Arad and Wendell Castle will be appearing at this year's Design Miami in the United States from November 30 to December 5.

These two new works as well as designs by 27 other artists will be appearing with the Barry Friedman, Ltd. gallery, which specializes in bringing high end contemporary European designs to the American market.

Coincidentally both the pieces by the two designers are rocking chairs: the Solid Rocker (2010) by Israeli designer and architect Ron Arad is constructed with stainless steel rods and has a metallic shine, whereas the Don Juan (2010) by American designer Wendell Castle is made of stained mahogany with an oil finish. Both pieces are unique and new.

Now in its sixth year Design Miami brings together established and upcoming high-end designers from around the world. The event is marketed as a showcase of museum quality furniture, lighting and objets d'art and aimed at serious collectors looking for unique pieces. The show also provides members of the public a glimpse into the latest happenings in the world of high-end design.

Other high-end but more accessible designs will be exhibited at Maison and Objet in Paris, France, from January 21-25. This luxury trade fair showcases the latest in high end home furnishings and designs; one of the themes of last year's event was the work of Russian designers such as Milma Rezanova and Evgenia Miro.
