Tyson Fury labels Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn an ‘absolute w*****’
Fury and Hearn have not been on good terms in the past but the ‘Gypsy King’ has been left angered by his alleged favouritism of Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez
Tyson Fury has labelled Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn an “absolute w*****” in a video on Instagram.
WBC heavyweight champion Fury is expected to face Joshua in an all-British unification fight this year, but has been angered by Hearn and his promotion company Matchroom Boxing’s marketing of the upcoming bout between Canelo Alvarez and Billy Joe Saunders.
Brit Saunders faces Mexican superstar Alvarez in a super-middleweight unification fight in Las Vegas on 8 May, with Hearn acting as the promotor for both.
But Fury has accused Hearn of favouring Alvarez in the build up to the fight, despite having worked with Saunders for longer. Hearn agreed a two-fight deal with Alvarez in January.
In an expletive-ridden rant uploaded to his Instagram story, Fury also claimed that his promoter, Hearn’s rival Frank Warren, was 10 times better than the Matchroom boss.
“I think Matchroom boxing and Eddie Hearn are absolute w******,” Fury said.
“Frank Warren is worth 10 of you Eddie, you little sausage. He knows how to promote fighters, that's why he's a Hall of Fame promoter.”
Speaking last week, Hearn said an agreement between Joshua and Fury was “as close as it could be”, with a date in July looking likely.
“It’s non-stop at the moment, but it’s happening, it’s 100 per cent happening,” he said.
