Tyson Fury fight: Purse splits for Brit’s rematch vs Deontay Wilder and trilogy revealed by Bob Arum

The Gypsy King fights Otto Wallin on Saturday before turning attention to a big 2020 against the division’s best

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder will split the purse for their highly-anticipated rematch 50-50 with terms already in place for a trilogy fight afterwards.

The WBC world heavyweight champion knocked down the Brit in the 12th round to salvage a draw last year.

And Bob Arum has revealed the pair will share the revenue evenly when they meet again on February 22 – with Fury required to get past Otto Wallin on Saturday and the American pencilled in to put his belt on the line in another rematch against Luis Ortiz beforehand. While the winner of the rematch will gain a majority share for a third fight between the pair to finally settle their rivalry.

“It’s a signed deal,” Arum told BT Sport. “Not only is it a signed deal for a second fight between the two best heavyweights in the world.

“The winner of the fight for a third fight, which is already signed, gets 60 per cent of everything and the loser 40 per cent.

“Right now, it’s signed for the second fight. Each side gets 50 per cent. I would prefer it take place in Las Vegas.”

The tentative plan for Fury in 2020 is to face Wilder twice before attempting to unify the titles against the winner of Andy Ruiz Jr vs Anthony Joshua 2.

“If he (Anthony Joshua) goes in there and gets knocked back out by Ruiz, then fair play to Ruiz. Who cares anyway? You know, I’ll just fight Ruiz, doesn’t matter. One hundred per cent,” Fury remarked.

“I’m not concerned because whatever happens in life happens and we can’t change it anyway. So, with every negative, there’s a positive.”
