Tyson Fury next fight: Gypsy King to face Tom Schwarz in Las Vegas after failing to make Deontay Wilder rematch

Fury fought to a thrilling draw vs Wilder last year and has since signed a co-promotional deal with Top Rank

Tyson Fury will take on Tom Schwarz next on June 16 with the fight likely to land in Las Vegas.

The heavyweight earned a thrilling draw with WBC champion Deontay Wilder last year but failed to come to terms on a rematch.

And after penning terms for a co-promotion deal with Top Rank and a television deal with ESPN, Fury will continue to fight in the United States, topping the bill at the Thomas and Mack Centre.

Fury clambered off the canvas in dramatic fashion against Wilder in Los Angeles and despite calls for a rematch, Bob Arum insists it will not happen until 2020.

“Assuming he (Fury) wins this fight, he'll have another appearance in the United States,” Arum told World Boxing News.

“Then hopefully next year in February he'll end up fighting Wilder. Their idea is to have Wilder fight twice on their platform and then to get together a do a PPV fight. ESPN is just a distributor.

“It may well be that Wilder also has a network involved. They may want to share the distribution in some way with ESPN and that is something we've done before.”

In February Fury signed a deal lasting five fights with the United States network ESPN worth a reported £80m. And earlier this week ESPN Deportes that Schwarz will be the opponent on June 15, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

Schwarz, 24, is 24-0 with 16 KOs but has never fought anybody of Fury’s calibre before and has only twice boxed outside his native Germany.

He previously stopped his fellow German Samir Nebo in four rounds – with Nebo then losing his next fight, to domestic favourite David Allen, in the first.
