Jamshed's second successive century lets Pakistan cruise to series triumph over India

England will face a wounded India next week after Nasir Jamshed's second consecutive century earned Pakistan a one-day series victory today.

India slumped to an 85-run loss in Kolkata to go 2-0 down in the three-match series. The tourists' total of 250 proved enough to give them the win, as India managed just 165 in reply. Jamshed was the star again, following his 101 in the series-opening six-wicket win at Chennai with 106 today.

The 23-year-old shared in an opening partnership of 141 with Mohammad Hafeez, which was only ended in the 24th over when Hafeez – attempting to sweep Ravindra Jadeja – missed and was bowled for 76, from 74 balls.

Jamshed's innings ended when he advanced down the pitch to Jadeja but was stumped by Mahendra Singh Dhoni to leave his team 210 for 5. He hit 12 fours and two sixes.

India's reply was at 42 in the 11th over when Gautam Gambhir became the first wicket to fall, bowled by Junaid Khan. It was 55 for 2 when Virat Kohli was caught behind off Junaid to the last ball of the 12th over.

India reached three figures in the 29th over with five wickets down but R Ashwin was next to go when he missed a Shoaib Malik delivery and was stumped for three by Kamran Akmal. Dhoni and Jadeja had added 28 for the seventh wicket when the latter went for 13 – caught by Younus Khan off Saeed Ajmal, who trapped Bhuvneshwar Kumar lbw two balls later.

The end was nigh for the home side just two balls later when Ashok Dinda was lbw without scoring, giving Ajmal his third wicket of the over and figures of 3 for 20. Captain Dhoni showed late resistance in reaching his half-century in a last-wicket stand of 33 .

However, when Ishant Sharma was bowled by Junaid for two, Dhoni was left unbeaten on 54 and the series was decided with one match to play.
