Jonathan Trott: Batsman returns to training with Warwickshire but no timescale for a comeback after recurrence of stress-related illness

Trott returned from the winter Ashes series after the First Test before suffering similar symptoms of his stress-related illness when he made his comeback

England batsman Jonathan Trott has returned to training with his county Warwickshire but there is currently no set schedule for his return to action.

The 33-year-old returned home after the first Ashes Test in Brisbane last winter because of a stress-related illness and experienced a repeat of the symptoms when he made his attempted comeback in the first county championship game of the season in April.

Trott has continued to be involved with the club in a small capacity since and on Friday trained with the squad.

Further sessions are planned in the near future but Press Association Sport understands Trott's involvement is entirely his choice and he is under no obligation to commit full-time to training and no timescale has been set for a return to playing.

"Trotty had a net on Thursday and he took a full part in practice yesterday," director of cricket Dougie Brown told the Daily Telegraph.

"He's back hitting the ball and he is being integrated into the stuff that we are doing.

"But no timescale has yet been put on when he will play again. He will probably train with us again over the weekend but at this stage he is not in our plans to be playing second team cricket next week."
