Pascal Ackermann recovered from an early crash to take victory in the RideLondon Surrey Classic on Sunday.
The German won a dramatic sprint finish ahead of Italy's Elia Viviani to win in four hours, 20 minutes and 11 seconds.
Ackermann had fallen halfway around the course but was helped back onto his bike and made the most of his second chance.
An earlier five-man breakaway was caught with six kilometres to go and Ackermann sprung clear in the final 200 metres.
Mark Cavendish sat at the competitive end of the peloton throughout the race but was too far back in the final moments to influence the outcome.
