Tottenham have announced the signing of midfielder Benjamin Stambouli from Montpellier.

The defender moves for a reported £5m from the Ligue 1 side.

The 24-year-old is yet to be capped at international level for France, and has played for Montpellier for all of his professional career.

Stambouli was an integral part of the Montpellier side who won the league title in 2012.

It looks like being a case of one midfielder in and one midfielder out at White Hart Lane today, with reports that Sandro's £6m switch to QPR will announced imminently.
