Arsenal fear Aaron Ramsey could be sidelined for six weeks, after the midfielder pulled up during the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Bayern Munich last night, and was substituted in the 57th minute at the Emirates Stadium.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who has endured long spells out injured during his career, is set to undergo a scan to confirm the extent of the injury, which was caused by Ramsey stretching for the ball.

Ramsey suffered three different hamstring injuries alone last season. Gunners’ manager Arsene Wenger revealed that the Welshman is “very down” after yet another hamstring injury.

"He's alright but very down. He told me he injured his hamstring,” Wenger said after the game. “It's quite a tough one."

Arsenal defeated Bayern 2-0 last night thanks to goals from Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil.

The Gunners face Everton in the Premier League on Saturday evening, before a Capital One Cup fourth-round tie at Championship Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday. Arsenal take on Bayern Munich again in the Champions League on Wednesday 4 November at the Allianz Arena.
