Things are about to get serious in the Champions League as the top two from the eight groups learn who they will face in the knock-out phase. Here are all the details you need to know about the draw which will involve Premier League sides Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.

WHEN IS THE DRAW?

The draw for the Round of 16 will take place on Monday 14 December at 11am GMT.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The sides will be split into two pots, with the group winners in one and the runners-up in the other. However, there are some restrictions on who can play who. No sides that progressed from the same group may face each other and teams from the same country will be kept apart.

WHERE CAN I FOLLOW IT?

WHO IS IN IT?

Group winners: Real Madrid (Group A, ESP), Wolfsburg (B, GER), Atletico Madrid (C, ESP), Manchester City (D, ENG), Barcelona (E, ESP), Bayern Munich (F, GER), Chelsea (G, ENG), Zenit St Petersburg (H, RUS)

Runners-up: PSG (A, FRA), PSV Eindhoven (B, DUT), Benfica (C, POR), Juventus (D, ITA), Roma (E, ITA), Arsenal (F, ENG), Dynamo Kiev (G, UKR), Gent (H, BEL)

WHEN WILL THE TIES BE PLAYED?

The first-legs will be played on 16/17 and 23/24 February, with the seeded group winners playing away. The second-legs will be on 8/9 and 15/16 March.

Looking further ahead, the draw for the quarter-finals will be on 18 March with the ties played on 5/6 and 12/13 April. The semi-final draw is on 15 April with the games played on 26/27 April and 3/4 May. The final at the San Siro in Milan will be on 28 May.
