Pep Guardiola's men were handed arguably the easiest draw in the Round of 16

Manchester City are the new favourites to win this season’s Champions League after the completion of the Round of 16 draw.

City were handed what, on paper, appears to be the easiest tie of all they could have been given, with Basel offering the longest odds of winning the competition.

Chelsea however, have drifted to as far out as 25/1 after slipping to runners-up in their group and drawing Barcelona as a consequence with the La Liga giants the favourites to progress to the quarter-finals.

City’s promotion to competition favourites comes as the previous two most fancied teams, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, play each other with whoever wins likely to be re-installed as the side to beat.

Bayern Munich have jumped to second-favourites for that reason as well, while Manchester United and Liverpool are equally matched in the eyes of the bookies.
