Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho refused to answer a reporter's 'stupid' question and told him to 'Google' the answer.

After the West London club's poor start, BBC Sport journalist Ben Smith decided to press the Portuguese coach on his 'third season syndrome'.

Mourinho has twice managed a club into a third full season, at Chelsea in 2006/07 and Real Madrid in 2012/13. On both occasions, his side were the reigning champions but failed to retain their league title.

"A lot has been made of the third season in your time at clubs - what do you say to that?", asked Smith.

"Look," Mourinho responded, "...my third season - in Porto, I didn't have a third season. My third season in Inter, I didn't have a third season.

"My third season at Chelsea the first time, I won the FA Cup and the Carling Cup, and I played the Champions League semi-finals. My third season in Real Madrid, I won the Super Cup, I lost the [Copa del Rey] final, and I went to the Champions League semi-finals. These are my third seasons...

"So click Google, instead of making stupid questions, click Google and try to find," he added.

The defending Premier League champions currently sit 17th in the table, 11 points behind the leaders Manchester City, with hopes of retaining their crown fading.

While questioning his record was deemed 'stupid', Mourinho, speaking before his side's opening Champions League tie against Maccabi Tel-Aviv, did respond to a more flippant question about his short haircut.

When asked whether his new 'do was a 'war haircut', Mourinho laughed, answering: "The war haircut is shorter than this one."
