Daniel Sturridge put Liverpool ahead in their Europa League final against Sevilla with a corker of a finish (watch below).

The Reds striker found time in the area before curling a sublime shot into the bottom corner to put Jurgen Klopp's side 1-0 up.

There were some unsavoury scenes before kick-off, however,

Police were called into the St Jakob-Park stadium in the lead-up to Europa League final after a minor skirmish between Liverpool and Sevilla fans.

With the Spanish club selling only 7,000 of their 9,000 allocated tickets, the Merseysiders took over what appeared to be almost three-quarters of the 35,000-capacity ground.

There was no segregation in the end which housed the Sevilla fans, and a small scuffle broke out between possible 20 to 30 supporters.

It quickly subsided after intervention from stewards, before police arrived to line the aisle between two sections and provide some form of segregation.
