Dortmund vs Liverpool - live! Latest score as Mats Hummels goal levels in Europa League quarter-final
Follow updates from the Europa League quarter-final first leg at Signal Iduna Park
Welcome to The Independent’s live coverage of tonight’s Europa League quarter-final first leg between Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool.
It promises to be an emotional night. Jurgen Klopp returns to the club at which he built his reputation by winning back-to-back Bundesliga titles and reaching a Champions League final – a place where he will forever be remembered as an icon.
Considering the way his replacement Thomas Tuchel has his old team playing, though, he’ll be wary of a walkover.
Die Schwarzgelben dismantled Tottenham Hotspur in the last round and the team who many rate as the best left in this tournament could easily do the same to their old master’s Liverpool side.

1 min: Liverpool start with a searching ball over the top, which allows Divock Origi stretch his legs for the first time.
He has the beating of his marker but Roman Weidenfeller can sweep up easily.
4 min: Simon Mignolet just had his first taste of the threat that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang carries. He takes a backpass from Mamadou Sakho and dallies on the ball for a second before attempting a kick upfield, allowing the Gabon international to almost block his clearance.Mignolet drags the ball back, avoids Aubameyang's outstretched leg and breathes a sigh of relief. The striker was on him in a flash.
8 min: Yellow card for Emre Can.
He'll be walking a tightrope for the rest of the evening after a soft, silly foul on Herinkh Mkhitaryan.
11 min: The first real sniff of goal and it's from Dortmund.
Nathaniel Clyne is sloppy in possession and soon enough, Dortmund are piling through on goal.
They have three forwards waiting to break past Liverpool's last defender but the pass from midfield is inaccurate and Mignolet picks up the loose ball.
17 min: First big chance for Dortmund!
Julian Wiegl sends a brilliant lofted pass in behind Liverpool's backline which finds Marcel Schmelzer on the left. He sends a ball across the box which is latched onto by Mkhitaryan.
His shot looks destined for the goal but Sakho is there to block and eventually, Liverpool clear their lines.
The home side are starting to smell blood.
19 min: Chance for Liverpool!A big chance, too. Dejan Lovren meets a free-kick from the right with a clean header but nods it into the ground, right in front of him, which kills the pace on the ball.Weidenfeller gathers the ball, gets clattered by Lovren as the centre-back tries to atone for his miss and we now have a break in play while the pair receive treatment.
26 min: Silly, silly foul from Sakho, who's otherwise looked very good. Dortmund have a free-kick around 25 yards out...
28 min: Aubameyang takes and it's a few inches wide after a deflection. The corner comes to little and Liverpool eventually recover possession.
31 min: Dortmund get in behind once again and, for Liverpool fans, are doing so with worrying regularity.Sakho's on hand once again to block and send the ball out for a throw-in, which results in a deep cross being gathered by Mignolet.
