AC Milan midfielder Mathieu Flamini would rather remain at the San Siro than return to England amid reports the Rossoneri are set to offer the France international a new deal.

Flamini was linked with a move to Manchester City in January and interest is expected to increase when the transfer window re-opens in the summer.

The former Arsenal midfielder has been a bit-part player for most of the season but has started three of Milan's last four matches and is keen to extend his stay.

"I'm following the interest towards me of big English clubs. But my priority is Milan," Flamini said in L'Equipe.

"I'm at a legendary club, one of the greatest in the world. I feel very good there, I'm counting on imposing myself, at this moment I'm in full possession of my abilities."

Flamini signed a four-year deal with Milan in 2008.

Reports suggest the Serie A giants are considering offering the 26-year-old a two-year extension, something vice-president Adriano Galliani has hinted at.

"We are counting on him," he said. "Mathieu has already had playing time, he's playing, we're pleased with him."
