It’s a big game for…

Cesc Fabregas: As the dust begins to settle on the alleged ‘Lose for Mourinho’ saga, Fabregas needs to get back in good form. The Spaniard’s two assists in the domestic season will win no awards, but his one goal and assist in Europe this season came in the previous game with Tel Aviv, making this match the perfect opportunity to get back to firing on all cylinders.

Wierd stat…

0: Tel Aviv are the only team left in the competition to have not yet scored a point in the group stage. With this, they are one of only two teams who are already mathematically knocked out of the competition – the other being Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Remember when…

Costa gave it full beans: Cesc Fabregas perfectly crossed the ball to compatriot Diego Costa, who didn’t even flinch as he hit it on the volley. With the crossbar vibrating, Rajkovic was left to pick the ball out of the net for the third and penultimate time that night.

Player to watch…

Willian: No player from an English club has scored more in Europe this year. With three goals, Willian is also the only Chelsea player to have scored outside of their previous meeting with Tel-Aviv.

Past meeting…

Chelsea 4 (Willian, Oscar, Diego Costa, Fabregas) Maccabi Tel Aviv 0, Champions League, September 2015

Form guide…
