Man City Champions League draw 2019: Pep Guardiola’s side to play Real Madrid
City are still waiting to break through and win Europe’s biggest prize in club football
Manchester City will face Real Madrid in the Champions League last 16.
The 13-time European champions will host the first leg at the Bernabeu on 26 February, with City hosting the second leg at the Etihad on 17 March.
The Blues topped group C and remain unbeaten this season in Europe, having entered the draw as favourites for the competition. City finished ahead of runners-up Atalanta, as well as Shakhtar Donetsk and Dinamo Zagreb.
Guardiola will be desperate to advance to the semi-finals at least with the Champions League the final piece in City’s relentless pursuit of global dominance.
And the pain of their quarter-final exit at the hands of Spurs last season will not go away until they finally achieve their holy grail.
