Mohamed Salah to start for Liverpool against Manchester City after recovering from injury
The winger's inclusion will come as a relief for Liverpool’s fans after he scored and contributed an assist in last week’s first-leg win
Mohamed Salah has been named in Liverpool’s starting XI for this evening’s second-leg quarter-final clash with Manchester City.
The winger’s availability was thrown into doubt after he was forced off with a groin injury during last week’s 3-0 win over City at Anfield.
Salah went on to miss the Merseyside derby over the weekend but returned to training yesterday morning.
His inclusion will come as a relief for Liverpool fans after he scored and contributed an assist in last week’s first-leg win.
Manager Jurgen Klopp has made just one change from the first leg, with Georginio Wijnaldum stepping in for Jordan Henderson.
For Manchester City, Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany have both been named on the bench while Raheem Sterling starts after being left out of last week's XI.
Manchester City XI: Ederson; Walker, Otamendi, Laporte, Fernandinho; De Bruyne, D. Silva; Sterling, B. Silva, Sane; Gabriel Jesus.
Liverpool XI: Karius; Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson; Oxlade, Wijnaldum, Milner; Salah, Firmino, Mané.
