Shinji Kagawa runs through a team of about 30 kids

Shinji Kagawa may not have beat his man too often while he was shunted out on the wing during a two-year spell at Manchester United but he doesn’t seem to have any trouble when asked to run rings around a team of about 30 children.

That, at least, seems to be the case judging by a video uploaded on the Twitter account of his current club, Borussia Dortmund, who set the Japanese international up against an unruly mob of minors for some indeterminable reason.

The result was chaos, with each and every child chasing the 26-year-old as he zips out to the left wing, cuts inside and drives through on goal.

Once he’s rounded every outfield player, he shoots rather too fiercely past the ‘Hyogo Dream Team’s’ two young goalkeepers, who seem more interested in dodging his effort than saving it.

Kagawa, understandably delighted, then celebrates scoring past a child in a manner not seen sinceMichael Owen's attempt at youth coaching.

It’s not the first time something like this has been tried. Kagawa himself and his international team-mate Hiroshi Kiyotake played against 55 children for a TV game showthree years ago, which probably inspired this latest effort.

The original, however, may be former Athletic Bilbao player Joseba Exteberria’s testimonial in 2010, which saw 11 adult professionalstake on 200 players from the club’s youth system.
