Arsenal slipped past Burnley to qualify for the fifth round of the FA Cup despite an early scare after a Sam Vokes goal.
Arsene Wenger is likely to be very happy with the performancse of a number of Arsenal forwards who caused absolute havoc amongst the Clarets defence all afternoon. Alexis Sanchez and Alex Iwobi were the standout Gunners players and both were involved in the goals.
The first was a 17 pass move that resulted a Callum Chambers goal after a beautifully struck effort. The goal was made by Nigerian youngster Alex Iwobi who was able to manipulate the Burnley defence to provide the space for right back.
Whilst Arsenal had appeared dominant, later in the first half Sam Vokes climbed high above Arsenal centre-back Gabriel to knock in a cross from Tendayi Darikwa which made the game 1-1 going into half-time.
Despite the hope that it may have given the Lancashire side, Arsenal came out much the stronger team in the second half. And it only took eight minutes for Alexis Sanchez to put Arsenal back into the lead after finishing off a superb Arsenal counter attack.
The Championship side gave a good account of themselves at the Emirates and a number of players stood out. Whilst Sean Dyche may be a little disappointed, he will now be able to focus his side on the promotion push for the rest of the season.
