Welcome to the Independent’s live coverage of the FA Cup as Arsenal, Watford, Manchester United and West Ham United all fight it out for a place in the semi-finals.

First up, in the capital, the Gunners entertain Quique Sanchez Flores’s men at the Emirates hoping to lift the trophy for an unprecedented third consecutive time as their Premier League and European dreams hang by a thread.

Louis van Gaal, the United manager, is under intense scrutiny too after the tepid defeat to Liverpool in the Europa League round-of-16 first leg which further decreased the chances of them playing Champions League next season.

One of the reasons to doubt the Red Devils is presented by West Ham. Managed astutely by Slaven Bilic, the Hammers could yet trump both United and Manchester City to a spot in the top four. When asked if he would prefer to achieve that feat or win the FA Cup, however, Mark Noble preferred the latter.

Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur travel to Aston Villa in the Premier League hoping to close the gap at the summit.
