Chelsea managed to book their place at Wembley with a narrow 1-0 win after an epic back and forth battle with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

Branislav Ivanovic's header separated the two sides after 120 minutes of end-to-end action, that saw both teams miss numerous chances.

Diego Costa will grab many of the headlines after a chippy encounter in which he probably should have been sent off twice after stamping on Emre Can and then Martin Skrtel - the Spanish striker also clashed with Steven Gerrard in extra-time.

Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho had good chances for the visitors but came up against an impressive Thibaut Courtois, while Chelsea began to exert more and more pressure as the match went on.
