Try as he might, Daniel Sturridge just couldn't keep up a straight face when he met football impressionist Darren Farley.

The Liverpool striker, who is a doubt for Sunday's FA Cup semi-final, met the comedian in an exclusive video as part of BT Sport's TV coverage for the game against Aston Villa.

Farley's absolutely brilliant impression of BT Sport commentator Michael Owen leaves Sturridge struggling to keep a po-faced demeanour together, with the pair discussing the game and Sturridge's trademark goal celebration.

Farley even attempted to copy the goal celebration, but failed miserably.

Sturridge also spoke to BT Sport's Ray Stubbs about the game and his season.

"For myself it’s been a difficult one in terms of being able to play but for the club it’s been difficult also," Sturridge told Stubbs when asked to describe his season.

"We've not had a great season but we're in a position now where we can finish in the top 4 and win the FA Cup. And if you had asked people at the start of the season if you can guarantee Champions League football and win some silverware they would have probably been happy.

"But at the same time with the season we had last season we came so close to winning the league we set the bar very high and sometimes it’s difficult to keep it replicating that. But that's what we're working towards, being a team that can challenge every single season for silverware and for the title."

He added: "Everyone's excited everyone's looking forward to [the semi-final] We understand the task we have, we understand what we have to do.

"We're going into it with a confident mentality. And as long as we do that we'll be able to get the job done."
