The lucky part being that it spares them the Martin Demichelis and Eliaquim Mangala centre-back partnership that were ripped to pieces by Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium earlier this season.

The players emerge from the tunnel, and are out on the Wembley turf within seconds. That journey alone would have taken three minutes at the old stadium.

With Lucas at centre-half and big Willy Caballero between the sticks, surely it's more of the same today.

Put on a decent suit, do up your top button and sing up. It's the national anthem.

KICK-OFF: We're away at Wembley! Two of the Premier League's most inconsistent clubs have found their way to final, and are just 90 minutes - perhaps 120 - of football away from claiming the English game's first piece of silverware this season. It's Liverpool versus Manchester City, and it's live.

1 mins: Liverpool are on the attack immediately from the start, and a slick pass from Jordan Henderson allows Alberto Moreno to test Willy Caballero with a low cross-shot. The keeper gathers, and he would have me to answer to if he hadn't. The Spanish defender has done nothing for my Fantasy Premier League team this season, I don't want him rocking up at Wembley with a goal inside a minute. f5652559-7950-4e19-9b22-6b853f0b78a3.jpgShow your support...with these coloured pieces of paper.

4 mins:Boooooooooo! Raheem Sterling gets his first touch of the match.

6 mins: It's been an encouraging start to affairs from Liverpool with the Brazilian pair of Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho seeing plenty of the ball. The latter is close to finding an overlapping Nathaniel Clyne all alone inside the Manchester City box, but the pass from Coutinho with the outside of his foot is just too heavy for the full-back.

8 mins: City pour forward for the first time, and former Liverpool man Sterling wins a free-kick on the left. The travelling Reds are delighted to see the forward booted over until they realise that the ball is within a threatening David Silva range. The Spaniard's set-piece falls to Fernandinho 20 yards out, but the midfielder volleys high and wide.

10 mins: I've recently worked out a foolproof way for telling Fernandinho and Fernando apart. One is really good at football, and the other isn't. The latter calls time on a dangerous City attack by needlessly committing a foul in the centre of pitch.
