It’s a big game for…

Divock Origi: The young Belgian should get a chance to stake his claim for a spot in the first team against Plymouth. With Sadio Mane heading off to the African Cup of Nations, Origi could enjoy a spell in the team if he can net a few goals against Plymouth.

Best stat…

55: The last time Plymouth and Liverpool were pitted together was back in April 1962, almost 55 years ago.

Remember when…

It’s almost 23 years since Plymouth were victorious against a top-flight club as they defeated West Brom 1-0 at the Hawthorns back in February 1984.

Player to watch…

Graham Carey: The former Celtic midfielder has been the key man for the Pilgrims this season, scoring ten goals and assisting nine in all competitions, playing a pivotal part in their flying start to the season. Any problems the visitors create on Sunday will likely be caused by Carey, so Liverpool will have to keep a watchful eye on the 27-year-old.

2 MINS

Liverpool are aiming to assert early dominance, with Ejaria showing great vision to begin the home side's first attack of the game. The Preston defence manage to cover the danger and it's a corner kick to Klopp's men.

4 MINS

Moreno makes a move from nowhere with a lofted ball over the top towards Ojo, but McCormick races off the line to collect possession. It's a good start from Liverpool, but Plymouth will need to pressure the ball more if they intend to make an impact.

Carey takes down Ejaria from behind and gives the home side a free-kick.

Woodburn sends the set piece into the box but it's cleared simply by Songo'o.

Liverpool are in full control at the moment, with Klopp's men looking very disciplined and organised. Plymouth looking deep, yet incredibly vulnerably, particularly down the right flank.

Ojo weaves majestically around the Plymouth defenders on the edge of the box and lays the ball off to Woodburn. The youngster then delivers the ball into the box, but the visitors manage to just clear the danger.

A Liverpool corner is delivered into the box from Moreno and the ball scrambles on the edge of the box. The referee awards a Liverpool free-kick in a dangerous area, as Carey goes into a challenge with a high boot. They need to make the most of this.
