Welcome to the Independent’s live coverage of the FA Cup as Manchester United and West Ham United fight it out for a place in the semi-finals.

Louis van Gaal, the United manager, is under intense scrutiny too after the tepid defeat to Liverpool in the Europa League round-of-16 first leg which further decreased the chances of them playing Champions League next season.

One of the reasons to doubt the Red Devils is presented by West Ham. Managed astutely by Slaven Bilic, the Hammers could yet trump both United and Manchester City to a spot in the top four. When asked if he would prefer to achieve that feat or win the FA Cup, however, Mark Noble preferred the latter.

Elsewhere, Arsenal entertain Watford in the capital.
