Plymouth Argyle yesterday entered administration and will now step up their search for new owners.
The Pilgrims, who lie bottom of the table, eight points adrift of safety, having already been docked 10 points, have appointed Brendan Guilfoyle, of the P&A Partnership, as their administrator.
An application by Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs to present the club with a winding-up petition was turned down at the High Court.
Guilfoyle hopes to find a purchaser for the club by 17 March, and said three parties have expressed an interest in the club. "I am optimistic that we'll find a buyer," he said.
