Bournemouth vs Leeds United match report: Mirko Antenucci completes second-half comeback to sink Bournemouth
Bournemouth 1 Leeds United 3

Leeds United’s caretaker manager, Neil Redfearn, extended his unbeaten record in charge of the team to three games at the Goldsands Stadium last night as the Yorkshiremen came from behind for a 3-1 victory. Redfearn has been told by owner Massimo Cellino that he will go back to his old job as academy manager when a new permanent manager is found to replace Dave Hockaday, with the former Argentina coach and ex-Leeds winger Alex Sabella an improbable candidate, but Redfearn is still making a case for occupying the Elland Road hot seat permanently.
Cellino did not attend the match, and would not have enjoyed a first half in which his team had goalkeeper Marco Silvestri to thank for being only 1-0 down. But he would have been impressed by their resilience and their second-half finishing.
Bournemouth took the lead in the seventh minute when a poor clearance fell to Andrew Surman on the edge of the penalty area. He walloped the ball into the far corner of the net.
After 18 minutes Silvestri prevented the home side from doubling the lead by finger-tipping over the bar a fierce shot from Matt Ritchie on the right. Leeds were seldom able to threaten, although Lewis Cook, 17, making his third start, had the visiting fans on their feet with a surge forward that foundered on a challenge from Tommy Elphick.
Fraser, denied by Silvestri again, and Ritchie, whose shot was blocked by Stephen Warnock, could have added to the lead.
But the Leeds defence were rewarded for their efforts in the 67th minute when Souleymane Doukara took Tomasso Bianchi’s pass and beat Lee Camp with a low right-foot shot. An unlikely comeback was complete after 82 minutes when Giuseppe Bellusci bent a superb free-kick into the top corner from 25 yards, and Mirko Antenucci charged through to make it 3-1 a minute from time.
