Former Liverpool midfielder says they should 'break the bank' for him

Robert Lewandowski, who has been named as a substitute in two of Bayern Munich's last four matches, would be "tailor-made" for the Premier League, says former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann.

In his role as pundit for Sky Sports, Hamann says that Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool should all try and capitalise on the 26-year-old's apparent unhappiness at the Allianz Arena.

"If you look at Manchester United, I think they could do with a Lewandowski," he told Sky Sports while working as a pundit for Shakhtar's 0-0 draw with Bayern, a game in which the striker started from the bench.

"At the moment United, Liverpool and even Arsenal, Lewandowski is tailor-made for them. He came to Bayern Munich on a free last year but if there was an opportunity to get him out I'd break the bank for him because I think he's the best No.9 in the world.

"It' a big question mark. There's a question mark about the manager. There are still no assurances that he will be there, even though he's got a contract."

The 41-year-old Hamman, of course, played for Liverpool between 1999 and 2006, and memorably scored for the club in the victorious 2005 Champions League final.
