England have reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup after an impressive 3-0 win over Denmark.

All the English goals came in the first-half, with the first coming after just five minutes when Danish goalkeeper Thomas Sorenson fumbled a Rio Ferdinand header into the net, Michael Owen made it two after 22 minutes and Emile Heskey scored the third when he drove home a long-range shot just before half-time.

In the second-half England were happy to sit back on their lead and absorb the pressure. Although Denmark had some half-chances they never looked like getting back into the game.
