The tales of punters having the foresight to lump money on Leicester City to win the Premier League, a remarkable feat which attracted odds of 5000/1 last August, have been well documented.

Many would quit betting forever. But imagine if you were inspired by your success, after winning £13,333 for backing Claudio Ranieri’s side to win the title, to such an extent that you then backed Wales to win the European Championship.

It may have been the year of the underdog but Chris Coleman’s men nonetheless were ruled out with odds of 150/1 before a ball was kicked this summer in France.

Now one punter faces the tantalising prospect of picking up another mammoth haul just weeks after winning big off the back of Leicester’s remarkable triumph.

Sky Bet have revealed that one fan is in line to win a further £2,084 if the Welsh can defeat Portugal in the semi-finals and then emerge victors at the final in Paris on Sunday.

Sandro Di Michele, from Sky Bet, said: “It was by pure chance that one of our trading team stumbled upon this remarkable punter, who has only had a few small accumulators other than a few outrageous outright bets.

“We're fearing another significant pay out if Wales triumph in France, but we can only say hats off to this customer if they've predicted two of the greatest sporting upsets.”
